Eligibility

The Training Manager must be qualified by work experience in security, law enforcement, corrections, a Bachelor's degree or higher in security, loss prevention, criminal justice, police science, or a combination of the above-mentioned qualifications.

The Training Manager must have a good background in quality assurance, quality control, open-platform training, licensing and credentials, contract compliance, investigations, personnel management, and policies and procedures related to contract security services.

JOB DESCRIPTION / GENERAL DUTIES
The Training Manager will perform the following functions:

Principal Duties and Accountability
  • Assists the Project Manager in attaining contractual and operational procedures oversight in the management of the GardaWorld Security Services contract while ensuring the high quality of security services provided
  • Conduct on-site investigations for personnel-related matters
  • Manage all training programs related to the maintenance of security services contract
  • Liaison with key GardaWorld Regional Support staff, Security Officer's Management Branch Officials, and key personnel while conducting job duties in accordance with performance requirements.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Coordinate security officer training activities for security (ad hoc, new officers, specialized, off-site, On Job Training, continuing education, and quarterly training) to include the development of proactive programs to prevent the lack of updated security training materials
  • Maintain all contractual responsibilities, goals, objectives, and functions
  • Manage the metrics program for key performance indicators
  • Institute a comprehensive quality assurance program, including but not limited to file audits and monthly off-hours inspections
  • Conduct a 6-month review of assigned operational procedures (Post Orders), suggesting improvements, and initiating implementation as authorized by GardaWorld Leadership or the client.
  • Provide contract-related operational briefing to the client during weekly meetings
  • Develop, manage, and report on inspection programs
  • Assist with oversight of large-scale special events
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain sound and effective labor relations with GardaWorld Security Services employees and GardaWorld Security Services Regional Support Staff
  • Develop, manage, and maintain all requirements necessary to meet local and national regulatory requirements, including but not limited to licensing and credentials
  • Providing recommendations for disciplinary actions on employee violations
  • Serve as a member of the employee promotions board and provide input for final recommendations as needed
  • Must be able to work flexible hours outside of the normal working hours to facilitate and meet the goals/objectives of security operations and undertake other ad-hoc assignments as necessary to meet the goals of security operations including training all three (3) shifts
  • All additional duties as directed by the Project Manager

General Qualifications to work as a Training/Quality Assurance/Investigation Manager at GardaWorld include:
  • Background including a minimum of 5 years in a security environment with a combined concentration of quality assurance, quality control, open-platform training, licensing and credentials, and contract compliance/investigations
  • Possess at least a Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess superb multi-tasking ability and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
General Knowledge Requirements to be Successful:
The Training Manager must be knowledgeable in the following areas to effectively perform the minimum requirements of this position:
  • General understanding of Virginia, Security Officer's Management Branch, Armed Security Officer
  • Minimum licensing, training, certifications, and background check requirements for all officers assigned to the site.
Operational Norms
  • The Project Manager must be properly informed of all urgent and/or emergency situations in near real-time
  • The Project Manager is to receive a daily briefing of all pertinent occurrences including, but not limited to operational concerns, counseling sessions with officers and/or supervisors, information obtained through the grapevine, and items of concern requesting immediate attention - no later than close of business on the date of occurrence
  • Advise of ongoing projects or communications with supervisors/officers in near real-time whether the Project Manager is off-site, during off hours, or away on official company business
  • Specifically, notify the Project Manager of critical information prior to dissemination
  • Monitor client-issued cell phones (incoming/missed calls) while on duty and/or while off-site
  • Wear appropriate business attire while on site and while conducting official business on-site
