Compensation: $27.00/hour
Schedule: Varies

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.
Other duties may be assigned
  • SRO's will be assigned to train at 3 locations extending across the Greater Richmond area.
  • Shifts of 8 – 12 hours 
  • Must be able to accept last-minute assignments due to call-offs or No Call No Shows 
  • Handle calls for service; intake of media and emergency calls
  • Complete daily reporting; incident Report input and approval
  • Notification elevation, upon approval; mass notification/Everbridge
  • Conduct travel security reviews
  • Red Tag/Hot Works reporting
  • Ensure timely and effective response to incidents, alarms, notifications, calls, and other activities related to the Security Operations Center and its role as a central alarm monitoring station
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, outside vendors, law enforcement, and the security field force via telephone, automated alarm monitoring and radio systems
  • Process and evaluate information received from all available sources, and respond with the appropriate communication and dispatch procedures
  • Coordinate with Security Operations Center staff to provide necessary documentation in support of uniformed guard force activity (e.g., Officer Dispatch, Incident Reporting, etc.)

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:
  • Must pass a skills-based assessment called “Criticall”, which is administered after successful completion of the interview process.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:
  • Work experience must include of the following:
    • Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills and ability to prepare reports
    • Ability to use logic and reasoning to reach conclusions and approaches to problem solving
    • Demonstrated high level of competency with advanced computer systems (e.g., hardware, software, and networks)
    • Ability to communicate effectively with IT and Security Systems professionals
    • Demonstrated ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitors
    • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment while possibly working under pressure

  • Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Communications, or related field
  • Verifiable and successful security experience
  • Professional training and/or education in one or more of the following:
    • Customer service
    • Dispatch operations
    • Security and/or emergency services
  • Documented experience and competency in the following Security Software Systems:
    • Access Control/ID systems (e.g., ProWatch)
    • Alarm Receiving Automation software (e.g., Onyx Works)
    • Incident Management and computer assisted dispatch software
    • CCTV/Video Management systems (e.g., MaxPro)
    • Mass Notification systems (specifically, Everbridge)
    • Business Intelligence and Travel Tracking (e.g., iJet and NC4)
  • Experience in a modern 911 Call Center, Central Station Alarm Monitoring, or Dispatch Operation, Technical Security Control Room, or similar environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:
  • Environment: Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected
  • Major activity: Working on PC and using telephone/radio while sitting
  • Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching
  • Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law
