Responsibilities of a Security Lieutenant
  • Supervise the day-to-day service provided to the client and ensure service is of the highest standard
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with client and employees, and serve as the liaison between GardaWorld, our client, and our assigned staff
  • Meet regularly with client to address problems, provide status updates, communicate needs, and ensure satisfaction
  • Manage 24/7 Security Operations of site
  • Coach, Mentor, and Train all assigned Staff Members.
  • Interview, Hire, and Onboard New Staff Members.
  • Ensure and enforce that all staff are following SOPs, meeting/exceeding standard.
  • Regularly audit security procedures and test security awareness and responses
  • Manage a tiered disciplinary process.
  • Manage and Issue Equipment/Uniforms.
  • Covers shifts as needed to fulfill contract requirements.
  • Ensure 100% payroll and billing accuracy
  • Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in assigned account
  • Respond quickly to critical situations
  • Ability to read and write detailed reports
  • Manage fleet maintenance
  • Serve as the Account Manager as needed

Qualifications of a Security Lieutenant
  • Any employee carrying a lethal weapon or less-lethal device for GardaWorld, whether lethal or less-lethal must be a minimum of 21 years old and meet all GardaWorld and State armed officer guidelines or in the case of less-lethal weapons, the employee must be credentialled by the designated state or governing body or certified by GardaWorld where other government credentials are not required. The following minimum criteria apply:

    a. Each armed employee must either be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree and concentration in criminal justice, police science or security administration or formerly qualified in one of the following disciplines, including: criminal justice degree (Associates or higher); law enforcement; career military or military police; police academy graduate; corrections officer; federal agency officer; military elite forces.

    b. Have a minimum of six (6) months of armed work experience which may include military and/or law enforcement experience.

    c. Pass a ten (10) panel drug screen.

    d. Pass a GardaWorld background check.

    e. Pass an LEAI Assessment (62% or higher).

    f. Complete all state-mandated certifications in the state for which they will be employed.

    g. Complete certification to carry an approved less-lethal alternative.

    h. Received the Armed Security Officer license, registration, or authorization from the state governing body if required. A copy of this authorization and or the actual license must be kept with the GardaWorld employee when working at GardaWorld client site.

    i. The Armed Security Officer license must be valid and renewed per state or jurisdiction guidelines and tracked appropriately in WinTeam Compliance Tracker.
